| Sunrise
Sundays
(September thru June)
Once a month children with cancer -- ages 3 1/2 to 17 -- and their
siblings, get together with our summer camp staff for a day-long
“camp” experience. Music, crafts, sports and special
guest events are part of our “camp” programs. Children
need not have participated in our previous summer camp program to
join the fun of Sunrise Sundays. Programs are held at the Henry
Kaufmann Campgrounds on the border of Nassau & Suffolk Counties
or other sites during the year. |

Sunrise Fun-days
(September thru June)
Have a mid-year, multi-day reunion with camp friends or make new
friends by joining our Sunrise Vacation Fun-days. The program is
open to our previous summer’s Sunrise Day Camp children, ages
3 1/2 to 17, and children who want to have a mid-year Sunrise fun
experience. Activities take place at either the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds
or other sites. Dates vary and are consistent with public school
vacation days. |
Hospital/Home
Visits
Sunshine from Sunrise
From time to time, children associated with Sunrise Day Camp and
year-round programs fall ill, requiring hospitalization and separation
from their friends and family. A group of trained volunteers visit
hospitals to bring Sunrise greetings and a “bag of fun”
to our children. Contact us if your child is in the hospital. We
would love to bring a little bit of sunshine to their day from their
Sunrise friends. |
