General Responsibilities
To achieve the objective and goals of camp by:

• Providing leadership in camp programs
• Participating in the planning and implementation of camp programs
• Sharing enthusiasm for each camp activity
• Participating in staff orientation and meetings
• Work with the unit heads, program directors and other administrative staff to meet the needs of campers and staff
• Assume group responsibility as assigned
• Encourage respect for individuals, personal property, camp equipment and facilities
• Be committed to and follow the camp rules


Group Counselor's Assistant

• Work with an individual group of campers, serving as an assistant to the head counselor throughout the session
• Assist in guiding the group in a variety of camp experiences
Work to develop a group, team feeling with the assigned group and the camp as a whole
• Know the whereabouts of your campers at all times
• Set a good example for your campers
• Monitor the daily health and safety of each camper assigned
• Be safety and health conscious regarding campers' needs
• Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures
• Identify and meet campers' needs
• Establish individual and respect relationships with each one of the campers
• Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness and discuss with the group counselor the appropriate behavior-management techniques to apply
• Assist activity staff by actively participating and supervising campers at program activities
• Assist in the special development of programs and activities as needed
• Be aware of not only your own group's welfare but also that of the entire camp


Activity Specialist Assistant

• Assist the activity counselor to develop and/or implement program activities to involve campers and their counselors during program activity times in coordination with the program directors
• Assist the activity counselor to develop and implement the activities that will be age and ability appropriate for each of the camper groups
• Be present and on time for activities
• Provide leadership, guide, motivate and assist in instructing the campers while attending the activity
• Develop a team feeling in your program area if possible and for the camp as a whole
• Set a good example for all campers
• Observe camper behavior, assess appropriateness, and work with the group counselor in applying appropriate behavior management techniques
• Enforce safety precautions, regulations and emergency procedures relating to the equipment and materials and area of your assigned program
• Be safety and health conscious regarding your campers' needs
• Assist in the development of special programs as needed


Office/Administrative/Support Staff

• Respond to and initiate phone and personal communication as the spokesperson of the camp when necessary
• Maintain camper records and files in confidential fashion
• Relay all information necessary to appropriate staff personnel
• Be timely in response and information dissemination
• Maintain calm demeanor in emergent situations
